Bible Text: Proverbs 8:1-4, 22-1 | Preacher: Rev Rushan Sinnaduray | Series: Limitless | This week we will be reflecting on what it means to have Limitless Wisdom. As part of that we will be reflecting on our images of God. What is your image of God?

All too often, on our faith journey, we become dependent on the image of God and the faith that others bring. Now don’t get me wrong, it is important to have people who can guide us on our faith journey and point us towards the true light. There is an old saying attributed to Confuscius that says something like “When the wise man points at the moon, all the idiot sees is the finger.” The problem is that we sometimes get so focused on all the fingers pointing at the moon that we miss the moon. We get so focused on the light that others bring us (you know what parents taught us, our tradition, our Sunday school teachers/youth ministers etc) that we forget to seek out the true source of the light for ourselves. The faith channelled into our lives by others is important and vital to help us find the path, but at some point we need to find that source faith for ourselves and that’s where Wisdom comes in.
