Senior Pastor

Pastor Soniyyah has over twenty-five years of ministry experience. She is a cross-cultural trained leader
having pastored in both white and African American churches. She comes with experience of not just a pastor, but a community organizer, activist and teacher. In her hometown of Fort Smith, AR she served as the chapter leader of Citizens Climate Lobby. Pastor Soniyyah is the founder of PACE (Police and Community Engagement) an organization dedicated to social healing through tackling our society’s deepest racial divides. She created Bridges, a community group committed to bridging the political divide. She also served as the Board Chair of The League, an Environmental Resource Development Organization committed to racial equity and social healing. Rev. Dr. Blue-Key believes in building inclusive communities that embody God’s love, grace and acceptance for all.

Her faith is rooted and grounded in the belief that the good news of God’s love is for everyone regardless of race, gender or sexual orientation. She brings with her a love for justice and a boldness for speaking truth to power. Her preaching style is dynamic, down-home, challenging and thought provoking. She leads by lifting and encouraging others on their faith formation journey. Rev.Dr. Blue-Key is aware that the church universal is at a crossroads. She pulls no punches in her constructive criticism of the universal church, naming the role that church has played in pushing harmful theologies around race, gender and sexuality. Her approach to addressing the problem is acknowledging and owning the harm done, addressing and exposing the roots of bad theology, and extracting white supremacy from the biblical text. Pastor Soniyyah received her Master of Divinity from Southern Methodist University-Perkins School of Theology, and her Doctorate degree from Drew University.
