Rev. Dr. Jim Hill

Interim Pastor

Jim grew up in large family and pastor’s home in Maryville, Missouri. He entered the ministry while he was a student at Southwest Baptist University where he completed a Bachelor of Arts degree in Religion, Philosophy, and History. He met Bettie Jo at college, and they have been married for 50 years. They have three married sons and four grandchildren. Jim completed Master of Divinity and Doctor of Ministry degrees at Midwestern Theological Seminary in Kansas City. Jim retired from full-time ministry in December of 2017, and he will complete 52 years of ministry in early 2024. He has served as a senior pastor, church planter, missionary, and denomination leader. He has also served as interim pastor for 24 congregations and consulted with many congregations and Christian ministries. Jim and Bettie Jo have lived in Jefferson City for 26 years. They enjoy traveling, hiking, riding bikes on the Katy Trail, watching baseball, and spending time with their children and grandchildren. Jim also enjoys playing golf. Jim began his ministry with the Oasis UCC congregation January 1, 2024.
